Most of us are throwing overripe and rotting tomatoes into the garbage, believing that they are useless. However, you won’t have to do that anymore because we will show you how you can use them for growing an unlimited supply of fresh and organic tomatoes.
How to Grow a Tomato Plant with Rotten Tomatoes?
The process of growing tomato plants is very simple and requires only two pots, some dirt, and four overripe tomato slices.
The tomato slices need to be about a quarter inch thick (or less), so the seeds can have direct exposure to the soil. Place the slices on top of a large pile of potting soil in your pot, then cover them with another layer of dirt, which should be as thin as possible, otherwise, the plants will not be able to sprout.
In the following two weeks, you should water your dirt pile every once in a while. After that, you will notice a few seedlings that have begun to sprout. You should choose four or five of the biggest seedlings and move them into other pot. Wait for these seedlings to grow, then get rid of those that are not growing so well, leaving only the two biggest ones.
Health Benefits of Tomatoes:
Tomatoes that are grown without the use of pesticides are fruits that you should always have at home because they are full of vitamins and minerals.
They have powerful antioxidant properties that can help protect against heart diseases. Tomatoes are also rich in vitamins C and E, which are needed for proper functioning of the cardiovascular system. Furthermore, tomatoes also contain carotenoid lycopene, a compound that prevents the accumulation of fat in the bloodstream and the arterial walls, which is one of leading causes of cardiovascular and heart disease.
