In 1938, London stockbroker Nicholas Winton decided to use his two weeks vacation to get to work.He traveled to Prague and ended up saving the lives of 669 children, mostly Jews, from almost certain death.He has spoken to CBS’ 60 Minutes about his incredible story, which included theft, forging documents and even blackmailing officials to get his way.

The entire world found out about his operation 40 years later, in 1988.

This went public when his wife found a scrapbook with complete list of names and photos of all children who were saved. 50 years later, Winton got the best surprise a man can get!
