SHE LOST 220 LBS. IN 15 MONTHS! THIS IS HER INCREDIBLE STORY ON FIGHTING OBESITY!

Kathleen Smith, a 17-year-old from Portland managed to lose 220 lbs in just 15 months. She spent her high school days depressed because her classmates ridiculed her for her weight. People on the street also often stopped to watch and loudly comment on her appearance.  In her despair, she even wanted to undergo a gastric bypass surgery. But in consultation with the doctor, he told her that she would never be able to lose weight and that surgery won’t help her.

She was persistent in her intention, committed drastic dietary changes and changed the whole lifestyle. She even hired a personal trainer and began a strict regimen followed by a lot of sweat, hard work, tears and joy.

She was afraid she would never manage to lose weight, because it all seemed too difficult and almost impossible at the time. But in the end, she realized that she must get rid of all negative thoughts if she wanted to win the fight with weight. She followed a weight loss program and ate a healthy and balanced diet. Also, she exercised 6 days a weak. Every day was a challenge, but she managed to overcome all obstacles. After 15 months, Kathleen looked in the mirror and was more than satisfied with herself. But that was not the end of her fight against obesity.

After losing 220 lbs., she was left with excess skin, prone to infections. Dr. Michael Salzhauer, a plastic surgeon, after hearing of her incredible story and determination, decided to do the surgery for free. Kathleen had three cosmetic procedures, until all the excess skin was removed.

Today she finally feels and looks like a completely different woman. She enjoys life and is happy. She is no longer depressed, resentful, anxious and unhappy. She socializes more with others and most importantly – she is more than satisfied with herself.
