A rich man took his son on a trip to countryside in order to show him how it looks like to be poor. They spent a couple of days on the farm with a very poor family.
Once the trip was over the father asked his son did he like it. “It was great, Dad,” the son replied. “Did you see how poor people can be?” the father asked. “Oh Yeah,” he said.
“So what did you learn from the trip?” asked the father. The son answered:
“I saw that we have one dog and they had four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end. We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night. Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon.
We have a little parcel to live on and they have fields that go past our sight. We have people who serve us, and they serve others.
We buy our food, but they grow theirs. We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to protect them.” The boy added: “It showed me how poor we are”. His father was speechless.
People mostly focus their attention on what they don’t have, but forget about the things they have. Everything is about one`s perspective and what person`s worthless object for one person prize possession for another.
You also should keep in mind that it’s all about how you see things in life, it all depends on your perspective. We can say that what is one person’s worthless object is another’s incredible prize. As we said before, it all depends on our perspective.
When I’m mindful of how my choices influence others, I’m better ready to make ones that are not only beneficial for me and my family, as well as useful for my group, my area, my nation, and even our planet. Sometimes it takes the viewpoint of a kid to remind us what’s vital.
