If you are a woman, you might have, at some point of time, experienced vaginal itching and burning. And you know how uncomfortable it is.
It’s caused by a variety of things: hormonal fluctuations; reactions to soaps, detergents, condoms, or douching; tight-fitting clothes; skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis; and perspiration.
In addition to itching and burning sensations, there can be redness and swelling in and around the vagina and vulva. Vaginal discharge and odor may also be present.
So no need to let vaginal itching ruin your day because trying one of these natural remedies should help you feel better in no time.
Yogurt can also be used as a home remedy to stop itching and burning . It contains probiotics which is in charge of getting rid of bad bacteria that may be found in the vaginal walls that are causing the itch and the discharge. It also helps promote the growth of good bacteria.
Dip a tampon in yogurt and insert it in the vagina. Leave it on for two hours. Do this twice daily until you get relief.
-APPLE CIDER VINEGAR
Apple cider vinegar has antibacterial and antifungal properties. It will help remove the itching completely if it is a fungal or bacterial action that is causing the infection. It also helps restore the natural pH balance of your vagina.
Mix 2 tablespoons of raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar with a glass of warm water. Use this solution to wash your vagina. You would have to do this 2 – 3 times a day.
Apple cider vinegar makes the vagina acidic where the bacteria cannot thrive for long.
-If possible, sleep without underwear until the itching has subsided.
-Wear cotton underwear or leave your private parts free of tight clothing whenever you can.
-Drink plenty of clean, purified water.
-Avoid intercourse until the itching has stopped.
-Eat foods high in vitamin C to strengthen the immune system.
-Stop itching – the more you itch the scratch – the more the scratch will itch!
Note: In young girls, it’s important to report any itching, burning, or irritation to a health care provider, because these symptoms can be signs of sexual abuse.
