PEOPLE ONCE WANTED THEIR BUTTOCKS WERE SMALLER, BUT EVER SINCE J-LO FIRST WHIRLED THROUGH ‘IF YOU HAD MY LOVE’ IT’S ALL AROUND THE BOOTY.
The newest wave of voluptuous derrieres (need we even mention the Kardashians and Serena Williams) has sparked a wave of ladies turning to plastic surgery to plump up their bums and thighs – and with that wave comes some unusual (and fairly interesting) botched jobs.
Having a big butt is connected to a healthy person. However, I bet buttocks is not the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear the term health problems. But for the 27-year-old Brazilian model Andressa Urach, her bum almost ended up losing her life.
Since she was a little girl, she dreamed of becoming a model. From where Andrea comes from, there is one other quality every model must have: a great posterior! She had every attribute she needed, but in her eyes, she saw herself like she butt needed to be more voluptuous.
IN ORDER TO SUCCEED IN THIS KIND OF JOB, SHE DECIDED TO UNDERGO A QUITE RISKY PROCEDURE. MOREOVER, THIS KIND OF PROCEDURE WAS NOT LEGAL AND ALLOWED IN HER HOME COUNTRY.
Just like in Beyonce’s song ” Pretty Hurts” she says that we are all slaves to beauty. She discovered a way to achieve her beauty perfection and had hydrogel and PMMA injected into her hips and thighs to expand the size of her bum and hold it firm.
AT THE BEGINNING, THIS IDEA WAS WORTH A WHILE, SHE EVEN WON THE WORLD FAMOUS MISS BUMBUM CONTEST IN 2012. HER BEAUTY WAS FINALLY APPRECIATED, NOTICED, AND SEEN!
Suddenly, Andressa’s life changed completely and not for the good, but to the worse. She started experiencing sharp pain in her legs, so she went to the hospital in Porto Alegre. After running several tests and analyses, it turned out that the gel that had been injected into her thighs had not been properly absorbed into her body and had caused her muscles to rot. Doctors penetrated in her skin to remove the gel and then stuffed the gaping cuts with a specific foam. Instead of going home, Andressa stayed to intensive care because the cuts were infected. The worst that could’ve happened and the doctors were taking it as an option was to amputate her legs.
Andressa underwent numerous operations and medication to stop the infection and was able to make a full recovery. She later said that her 200,000 Twitter fans’ prayers gave her hope to get through the ordeal. Andressa has even written a book about her experience and hopes that it will serve as a warning to other people who are thinking using this type of corrective surgery.
