Today we are sharing story of Catherine Malatesta and her friends. Her friends do something very incredible for her. Catherine attended her junior prom at the age of 16. She was very excited for this very important moment of her life. Sadly, she was struggling stage 4 cancer at that time and had been released from hospital just for this prom night. After the event, she returned to hospital. Three months later she died of cancer.

HER MOM EXPLAINED HOW MUCH THIS PROM NIGHT MEANT FOR HER.

Her mother, Jennifer Goodwin, said, “She turned to me and said, ‘Mom, for the first time in a long time, I actually feel beautiful.’ It was such a lovely moment and I was so happy that she felt like that for one day. It was a special, special night for all of us.”

CATHERINE’S FRIENDS DECIDED THEY REMEMBER HER ALWAYS.

Catherine’s friends figured out an amazing way to remember her always. Now Catherine’s friends have been wearing her prom dress as their own.

Catherine’s mother is very grateful to her friends. She said, “It makes me so happy that these girls want to honor her in such a simple, yet incredibly powerful way. They’re carrying Catherine’s spirit with them. She will forever be a part of their hearts and souls but wearing the dress is an outward physical acknowledgment of that love.”

SHE IS JILLIAN DANTON, CATHERINE’S FRIEND.

Jillian Danton is best friend of Catherine. They both love to play ice hockey and field hockey. After losing her friend, she decided to wear Catherine dress as her own. Jillian explained: “l definitely felt her with me the whole time and it was an experience I wouldn’t trade for anything in the world. It’s an extra memory of her that I have to hold on to.”
